ICF Level 2 PCC FAQ

Answers for coaches planning the PCC pathway or comparing Level 1 and Level 2 options.

Use this FAQ to understand who Level 2 is for, how it supports PCC preparation, and what learners should confirm before enrolling.

Who is the Level 2 PCC program for?

It is generally for learners who want a deeper coach education pathway aligned with PCC-level preparation and may already be planning their PCC credential journey.

Is Level 2 required for PCC?

ICF provides multiple credential application paths. A Level 2 program can simplify documentation for learners using the Level 2 path, but learners should always confirm current ICF requirements.

Do I need to already hold ACC?

Not always. Some learners pursue Level 2 before or after ACC depending on their experience, goals, and credential plan.

Does Level 2 include mentor coaching?

A complete Level 2 pathway is designed to include mentor coaching and evaluation components aligned with the Level 2 credential path.

How is Level 2 different from Level 1?

Level 2 is typically deeper and more advanced, with more education hours and a stronger PCC-level focus.

Can I join if I trained elsewhere?

In many cases yes, but placement depends on your prior coach education, experience, and the cohort structure.

Will the program help with PCC readiness?

The program is designed to strengthen coaching skills and support PCC credential preparation, but final credential approval is managed by ICF.

Can I discuss whether Level 1 or Level 2 is better for me?

Yes. Book a free session if you are unsure which path best fits your current stage.
